The LG Ally receiving Froyo (Android 2.2) come out from last summer, and a few weeks ago we reported that the Froyo update would arrive in February. According to sources, Verizon Wireless has officially announced that the new update, it is basically ready and will probably be launched sooner rather than later, most likely in a few days.
According to the official announcement, the update comes with several improvements. Let’s analysis them:
- Some security options have been improved: device lock, remote device wipe, password intricacy, as well as a minimum password length is now compulsory
- If you long press the physical home key, you’ll be able to switch between the last eight applications you used
- Faster browser, meaning faster loading of Java Script pages
- Enhanced screen rotation for app compatibility
- Bluetooth voice dialing shows your verbal instructions and repeats them, so that you make sure they’re accurate
- Updated contact directory, which now mixes corporate and Google accounts
- Immediate data re-connection after a long voice call
- The LG Social Application
